Pranic Healing
Prana is a Sanskrit word meaning "life-force,"
the invisible bio-energy or vital energy that keeps the body
alive and maintains a state of good health.
The Japanese call this subtle energy "Ki," the Chinese
"Chi," while the Greeks refer to it as "Pneuma."
In Polynesian it is known as "Mana" and in Hebrew,
"Ruah" meaning "Breath of Life" as in
the Old Testament. Vital energy is found in several forms:
earth prana, air prana, solar prana and Divine prana.
As an art and science, Pranic Healing
was widely practiced in the ancient civilizations of China,
Egypt and India. In Pranic Healing, healing is accomplished
by removing negative or disease energy from the patient's
energy body and transferring fresh prana to the affected areas.
Pranic Healing is based on the principle
that body has the ability to heal it's self. It utilizes life
force as fuel to initiate the necessary biochemical changes
to make this happen. Using a scientific "no-touch"
methodology, Pranic Healing can prevent and heal a whole spectrum
of physical, emotional and mental ailments.
The realm or category of energy or
spiritual healing contain a variety of names and methods.
Pranic Healing is one of the oldest forms that recognizes
the ability to work directly with the life force or energy
field of the client. The type of energy healing described
through this site is consistent with this understanding.
There are other type of energy healing
that are based upon primarily a "hands-on" approach.
In these methods the practitioner is almost always present
with the client. The practitioner is connecting directly with
the clients energy field by using their hands within the auric
or energy field of the client. Sometimes this includes the
physical touching of the client, though not always.
The practitioner must have a clear
understanding of the auric field, chakras and acupuncture
meridian system. These can be quite effect methods of dealing
with the energy imbalances under emotional, psychological
and physical illness. The type of energy healing discussed
on this site is not using these methods.
Theta Healing and the spiritually-based
energy healing described and practiced by Marlana is actually
at a more subtle level than the energies in the auric field,
chakras and acupuncture system. Though the changes that result
from this work will be evident in all of these systems.
